Leland Fleming has been teaching church music and private choral programs for almost thirty years. He is a master at encouraging and training others to use their musical abilities to the fullest! He regularly teaches singing schools and has published two songbooks. He has also written Music Unplugged! which teaches music theory in an easy-to-understand format perfect for the beginner as well as the more established musician.
Aside from writing, Leland is the director of Heaven Sent Choirs, he serves as one of the pastors at the College Park Church of Christ in Conroe, and he is Chief Editor of Fleming Publishing. His most recent book release is a
songbook called, A Heartbeat from Heaven, a book full of some of the best southern gospel songs available (Four-Part, perfect for church and special group singing). He also loves to write and produce original music CDs in the studio as He has opportunity.
He has been with Heaven Sent Choirs for eleven years where his choirs have won various awards in competition. Many of his students have also won the honor of placing in the TMEA All-State Choir, and many have gone on to college receiving their degrees in music.
Leland believes in providing a positive environment in which to learn, and offers a well-rounded approach to the choral program. Using a biblically motivated purpose for music instruction, he provides a solid foundation for music ministry and career objectives. He delights in leading choirs, congregations, and singing ensembles.
Leland and his wife, Kathie, have just celebrated their 30th anniversary. They have 9 children and 7 grandchildren.
